Chateau Cana Wines
Château Cana is the story of a man who converted a forgotten land into a vineyard at the very heart of Mount-Lebanon, in a small village called Ras El Harf. The aim of this project was to encourage the families of around 30 villages to come back to their homes after the civil war and to turn abandoned lands into vineyards.
Every year since 2001, Dr. Fadi Gerges, the founder of this project, picked the grapes and shared his experience with the villages’ families, accumulating over 20 years of expertise in the field. In 2018, Joanna Gerges joined the family-owned winery, after graduating from l'Ecole Supérieur de Commerce de Paris (ESCP). With more than 12 years of experience in brand management and consulting she breathed new life into the business. Based on customers’ feedback, Joanna introduced a rebranding from “Clos de Cana” to “Château Cana”. Nowadays, the team’s focus is on customer experience and maintaining open lines of communication with clients. Making wine is an art, and we love sharing it!
The majority of our vines stretch over ancient terraced slopes and enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year. We use a natural approach during the whole wine making process and so the harvest of the grapes is done manually and the fermentation naturally with the help of wild yeast. All our wines are then made with minimal intervention. Our wine has character to suit the needs and wants of our precious clients.
In 2021, Château Cana was ranked among the Top 50 World's Best Vineyards.
