Vignoble Joura
Vignoble Joura is a historic, organic winery located in Kfardebian, just five minutes from the Roman temple ruins, on land once shaped by centuries of winemaking civilization. Long before the Romans carved the mountain for iron ore, the Kanaanites and Phoenicians, pioneers of early winemaking, cultivated vines and laid the foundations of wine culture in this land. This extraordinary site later became home to Merwah, an indigenous Lebanese grape variety, with vines now over 100 years old, making them the oldest known Merwah vines in the country. The estate’s deep heritage is further revealed through ancient stone-carved winemaking remains, where grapes were once crushed by foot and wine gently heated in rock basins. Today, the vineyard cultivates seven grape varieties and remains fully committed to sustainable, traditional viticulture, using only native yeasts, no laboratory interventions, no added sulfites, and no clarifying agents; allowing each bottle to express Lebanon’s terroir in its purest form.
